Leona, I have not been involved with that type of man (I don't know anybody who uses crack); but we have handled several cases for women who were.
The woman can usually expect to be lied to and cheated on. She can expect that all of the money they have will be gone and their bank accounts emptied.
She can expect that their property will be sold without her knowledge or consent and that creditors will start calling, expecting to be paid.
She can expect that her children will start acting out. They will do poorly in school, make poor choices and prefer to hang out with the wrong crowd.
She can expect a neighbor or relative with a grudge to turn her in to Child Protective Services because her husband uses crack and she hasn't taken the children and left him.
In many cases, she can expect to end up homeless, with nowhere to go and nobody to turn to, because her crackhead husband will have alienated her from everyone she knew in her former life.
It's okay for her to still love him despite his addiction - but she needs to save herself and her children.
In short, she should do whatever is necessary to get out and get away from him as soon as she notices he's hooked.
