Feelings for a friend

Some good friend of mine invited me to go out with her a few weeks a go. Nothing happend between us on that date, it was up to me and i didn't want to ruin our friendship. time has passed, we spent some time together, and i felt that i'm starting to have feelings for her. In some evening i drove her home and told her that now it's mutual, actually i thought it was. It turned out that she is waiting for some guy that she dated with a year ago, to come back from abroad, and now i really don't know what to do. should I try to revive any of the feelings that she told me she had when we dated, by talking to her, or just leave it alone? I'm pretty confused about the whole thing.

Just tell her how you feel towards her.  If she cares for you, she might change her mind about the other man.

Sanjeev, when you say "it was up to me", do you mean that in the early stages she was interested and you were not, or are you saying that you were not into it but you don't know what she felt? It makes a lot of difference.

And another thing: when is the other guy coming back?

just drop it and be her friend.  she will get tired of waiting if its a long time.  she will see how amazing you are.  if you really want to see where this goes start dating someone right in front of her and see her reaction.  that will tell you what you need to know to get closure.  if shes ok with it, then move on completely.  if she shows signs of jealousy then work with that and phase the other person out

it is never easy to have feelings for a friend. ruining the amazing relashonship you have with her may not be the best thingg. she liked you rightt? well at the time you didnt have feelings fer her and thats okay. but the situation being turned around is tough i know.  if you feel that she is worth trying than go fer it buddyy. ya never know. you two could be perfect fer eachother without even knowingg. Ask her if she ever be interested again. and if the answer is no than she probably isnt the right gal fer you.
