Feds bypass State and Local School Boards by assigning their own lesson

Since when is it okay for the US Department of Education to write an assignment and send it directly to schools? Aren’t our Local School boards the only authority our Principals answer to? Why would Arne Duncan, Director of US Dept. of ED state "50 states doing their own thing doesn't really make sense." And then ignore our state and local school boards jurisdiction over school by sending a Federal assignment to our children? Do you think this is a test of our education system to see how far we will allow Federal intrusion? Do you think the President Obama's appointment of Mr. Duncan is yet another part of our lives he wants to take over?

It's all part of the radical left's agenda to take over control of the country. Look at all the "czars" that have been appointed and given unquestioned powers to make rules that control key areas of public policy.

Keep a very watchful eye on our government, your liberty is being taken away piecemeal.

The truth and only the truth.

I believe that US government intervention in the classroom is the beginning of the end to "good teaching".  Teachers who know their content and love children, do not need the government planning lessons for them; especially if they take the shape of a "cookie-cutter" mold.

We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Simply put, they have the right to control all of our public schools.  The USDE is at the top of the education ladder.  The only options are to either home school your child, or put them in a private school; if you want to avoid the gov't assignments.  While I do not agree that it is right for Duncan to control all of our childrens assignments, I do believe that the school boards need an intervention.  As a parent, I know everyone at our school board and choose to deal with the state dept. of ed, over our local one.  I have had to bring laws to the attention of both the local and our state dept. of ed. before, and this is why I believe that having the US dept. of ed to step in is necessary.

One can search every facet of the Universe, but unless one carries that which one is searching for with them, they find it not.

The federal intrusion upon our schools is another sign of the dictatorship mentality and structure of the Obama administration. The boundaries are being established and tested at the same time. The president should not be allowed to setup info-commercials to sell himself without going through state and local officials, but he is.
It’s a given that this first speech will be edifying for the youth of America, after all everyone is watching. But the substance of his speech to the children within our schools does not matter; it is the bonding with the minds of our youth that cannot be allowed. Was not this lesson learned from the rise of Hitler and his youth movement?

maybe the government is intervening because good teaching is out the window. why is it that whenever government steps in to help its citizens (which is what government is supposed to do) there are whiners making it an Obama conspiracy? This has been happening before Obama...government intervention, that is

We all know what the speed of light is, however, I wonder, what is the speed of dark?

This is just another attempt by the federal government to override state's rights in every facet of law, order and living. If "WE,THE PEOPLE" don't put a stop to federal intrusion into our lives, we will eventually be another communist Country.

Mostly, we are to blame. We elect the federal government. That's part of being a government of the majority. Americans need to start thinking about these things. However, the average American is still bent on living in their dream worlds. AMERICA, WAKE UP!
