What is your favorite holiday of the year, and why?
GIVE a man a fish and you feed him for a day. TEACH a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
SADLY, most fishermen are afraid to touch the worm.
Thanksgiving. My family is "medical" and the work schedules are always horrid around the holidays. It's easier for us to schedule time to get together then rather than Christmas. Thanksgiving seems to me to be more relaxed and less frantic than Christmas (though our kids love christmas better, not much of a wonder there (G))
But the point is that it's one of the few times in the year where my whole family can get together. It also offers, IMO, the best food, but then I'm a turkey junkie (G)
More than anything, it's the time I get to spend with my brothers and their families, time for the cousins to get together, and having my sibs and parents all together.
To me, that's what the holidays are about.
I love christmas :)
If it looks like a dog, talks like a dog, smells like a dog then it is just that and nothing more.
Can't stand the heat better leave my kitchen
Halloween, exciting, spooky, can be anything I want and love the costume parties and fun stuff.
Yummy
If it's funny, laugh. If it isn't funny, laugh anyway!
Thanksgiving.
It is a time to give thanks for everything we have. Family, friends, a good life. I love sitting down at the table and eating the great food. The football game is usually on and the kids are playing. It is almost like everything has stopped for just that day. Only a feeling of gratitude, for everything I have is present. It is a happy day.
George~
