To Lido: I am an Honorably Discharged Veteran who was declared "Fully Disabled and unable to return to work". Then it took 2 years with the help of some Democratic Congressmen to find my request for benefits letter. It was in the same closet as a couple thousand other Vets. Which we learned was in Louisville,Ky.
My files were supposed to be in PA. and finally - 6 months ago I was assigned a clerk. In the meantime my family and I live on $670.00 per month. These problems are all tracked back to the Republicans who created a nightmare for disabled Veterans all across the U.S.A.
Don't you think your Veterans who were injured in the line of duty deserve the very best care? Don't you think the Permanently Disabled Veterans deserve to be treated with respect? Don't you think they deserve a better living than Welfare? You pay taxes and have the right to demand improving the care for Veterans. Have you once brought that subject up in this forum? Have you ever E Mailed your Congressman or Senator and ask if he or she are helping make the lives of Veterans and their families better?
I'm not asking to live "High on the Hog" but I believe Disabled Veterans deserve to be treated better than them Hogs. Health care for many Disabled Veterans is supposed to continue in the "Private Sector". Yet how many times have you seen news stories on how a Vet and his wife had to drive 3 hours one way just to get to the VA Hospital because the local civilian hospitals, physical therapy, and medical specialists would not accept them? This Health Care Package protects and improves the health care for all Disabled Veterans!!!
Whether I ama Republican or a Democrat is not the question to ask. The real question is "Will this improve Health Care in the U.S.A. for everyone?" For some folks they won't experience any change in doctors, costs, or pharmacy. While others won't have to fight tooth and nail just to get sores from their prosthetic arm or leg looked at.
So my answer is this - " I am neither Red or Blue -- I am Red - White - and Blue"!
