Most of my family are grownups (above 20). What would be a good family activity to do together with our parents?
Depending on wher you are, camping would be fun, some fishing, sit around the campfire and make smores. Roast hot dogs on sticks. If you camp near a lake, buy or rent a blow up raft. Some places have horse rentals where you can go on trail rides and stay at a lodge up in the mountains. Camping is cheaper and it brings a family closer together when you are around the campfire laughing and telling jokes.

find either a nice place to eat at or have a family get-together like a family picnic

Never give up on someone you can't go a day without thinking about.
Pick a nice bar/restaurant that serves a variety of foods for everyone. A good drink will also help lighten the atmosphere.
Find a restaurant where you can have a private room for a family dinner
or arrange a pcnic where everyone prepares fod except for your your parents
or if you live near the sea, hire a yacht with a crew of one or two for a day's sailing.

You'll never go wrong in an outing on the beach.
Take a cooking class together. There are places that offer a 3 hour class for a relatively inexpensive price. We have taken the class with 12 people before. You get to cook the meal together and then eat it. Fun for all!
Road Rallies are a lot of fun as well. Someone has to put in the time and energy to plan it, but they are so much fun and relatively cheap.
Finally, any party at home planned around a theme is fun. We have dart tournatment, card tournaments, backgammon tournaments.... all with a cheap trophy for the winner and of course the brackets posted on the wall for our competitive natures.

A fun game that my family enjoys (mine are all older ones too) is something we found last Christmas. It's called WOLF I believe, but there are many versions. It's a deck of cards that get passed around by a leader. Your card describes who you are in the community id: good guy/bad guy. There are all kinds of townspeople and the evil one/ones are trying to kill off the good ones. The leader sets the scene and you all close your eyes. The leader asks the bad ones to open their eyes, then the good, then the others, one by one. He alone knows who is who. You ask each other questions and you evade questions or answer depending on your "card" idenity. All of my group (many are theatre trained and debate oriented) adored this game and continue to play it at their own parties.
