Please forgive me, I cannot speak for Israel or EU, however I can speak for the U.S.  In the United States, it is everyone's obligation to report a crime.  For example, being aware of a homicide, rape, car theft, etc. and not reporting it will include you as accessory to the fact if you do not report it.  I understand that it is difficult to report if this crime includes your loved one.  But harboring a felony criminal will, as well ,earn you a felony charge in the U.S.

Your comment is FALSE. In almost all jurisdictions, you don't need to report crimes. You CANNOT be held as an accessory for failure to report (that was the old English common law, but it was repealed in 1967 in UK itself). In US, UK, Israel, etc, generally you do not have to report crimes. There are exceptions. - In Ohio, you have to report felonies. - In Texas, there are times when you need to report a homicide. - There are some laws for mandated reporters like a teacher or doctor concerning vulnerable populations (children, elderly, sick). - Treason may need to be reported. A person concealing a crime (by affirmative acts) or obstructing justice would be guilty of charges. Harboring a known felon on the run may bring an accessory charge, as would inciting a crime or plotting it but not doing it. Failure to report a crime as a passive act is not technically a crime in most cases.
