Don't you think that Facebook is just another ...

No, not really.  Sure something better could come along, but the idea behind facebook is not a phase.  People love being able to be in touch with people from their past.  It is a great way to meet people, stay in touch, allow people to get to know you, and to share pictures and life experiences.  I don't think that this will to be in contact with the world will go away.

In my opinion, I think FaceBook is just another MySpace clone social gathering website. I mean, sure, social gather websites are all over the place for all different kinds of reasons. I just think that if a MySpace page had never came along then I doubt a FaceBook page would have ever came along either. But I suppose I could be wrong?

The fact is, Facebook is the only social media application that everyone at least in my peer group - uses. It's so popular with school and university students that it is unlikely to fade anytime soon.

As technology surges forward in providing innovative means of communication on the internet, students are becoming addicted to their favorite online social network.  Students log in daily to see if someone has posted a message, sent them an e-mail, check out new groups or 'poke' another member, which is a way of saying 'hello'.  Social networking is changing the way we initiate social interaction.  Instead of face-to-face interaction and calling friends, students use the social network as a virtual meeting place.  Also in the infancy of web based communication students used chat rooms to network and instant message.  As technology progressed blogs followed, and today it's social networking websites that provide the subscriber a means of creating a personalized website in a relatively short time without having any programming abilities.  The upside is students can provide a lot of information about themselves to share with others quickly; the downside is students provide a lot of information about themselves.

Effective Traffic!

It is very popular at the moment so they must be doing something right.  I don't know if it is a phase like you say. They are run by smart people and hopefully they can keep up with the continuous changing trends in the industry.  I hope they remain successful.

I dont use facebook at all really even though i do have an accounT. i might look in once a month or so.

Saying that though i do think it is a very useful site especialy for people who live far away. I am planning on going to thailand soon so i i will be using it a lot more

Anything popular with young people will fade as soon as something new comes along.
