I think anything you can see being done at the X-Games is an extreme sport. I mean, you'd have to be pretty crazy do any of the things those contestants do.
hmmm, base jumping seems a bit dangerous...don't you think?

Between 1981 and 2009 there have been at least 133 fatalities related to the sport.
Formula 1 is not considered a dangerous sport because of the safety mechanisms in place but really, the drivers are exposed to such high risk in every race. Running at 330+ km/hr can be disastrous and lifethreatening.
