External air bag

Hello everybody !

I'm a student, & I'm Doing a research about cars air bag, and I found few patent for external air bag, and that one car model - VOLVO SCC has a car external air bag in 2001. Can anybody halp and give an answer about other model with external air bag, or why VOVLVO don't product that model any more?

Other automakers are currently developing exterior airbags for pedestrian impacts. I don't of any in production at the moment.
