Excessive begging

What could be wrong with a 13 year old girl if they are constantly asking for things, like money, snacks, or for permission to do things or to go places? I know that it’s normal to ask for things, but I’m talking about excessive all day action?

This question was re-phrased and shortened in hopes of getting a fresh perspective.

Smile, it's contagious!

The need for attention or more affection than the child is given.  That is not to say that there is a lack of either just a need by the child for more.  Or, the need to be the center of attention.  Perhaps a younger child or a disabled child gets more time & attention from adults.  The child may have found that it is a means to get her 'way' in doing things she should not by taking the attention off of the 'bad' thing.  Another view may be that the child needs to spend more time with peers and less time with adults.  Perhaps the child does not know how to occupy/entertain herself.  Possible solution~~ speak with the child about 'what you see as a problem' and explore a solution together with input by all parties.  Maybe it won't remedy anything but you will both have a better relationship because the child is no longer treated as a child rather as a young adult which may be all she wants in the first place.  If you haven't tried it yet, why not give it a go?  Could be fun for all.
