Didn't this man's downward slide start before the day he neglected his son years ago and ever day since then that he has not contributed to the brain-damaged child's support, even though he bought a new house and made good money, and then claimed the child as a tax deduction, way before he lied about it to his new wife? Linking his quitting his job (no severance or unemployment) to vainly try to get out of paying support (AGAIN) to the depressed economy really does dishonor the hard-working honest people who lose their jobs even though they are trying to do their best by others.
