Eurovision Semi-Finals

Did anyone watch the Eurovision semi-finals? I started getting into Eurovision while visiting a friend in Spain a couple years ago, and now I am obsessed! What country do you think had the best performance? I thought that Israel's performance was simple and beautiful (if it is still talent that we are judging instead of the spectacle). I also thought that Ireland's Dustin the turkey song, while hilarious, was just too ridiculous for words! Any thoughts? Also, is anyone submitting for the song contest? How does that work?

I am sad to say that I did watch the entire Eurovision song contest this year, and was unfortunately disappointed in the end. I also thought that Israel's performance was very good. I agree, simple and very beautiful. I don't like it when most of the countries put on these big flashy performances, with half naked girls shaking their bodies around. I also really enjoyed Turkey's performance. I thought it was a really good song, and catchy as well. Unfortunately the end result of the entire competition was very disappointing to me. I couldn't believe that Greece almost won. The Greece performance was terrible, and the singer just looked like she was trying to do a Britney Spears impersonation. Which I think may be the reason why she got so many votes. I felt like the voting for the whole contest was not that fair. Countries voted for their ally and neighbor countries, and not really for who they thought was the best. Russia was good, but I don't think good enough to win.
