Error message when trying to open new internet window

I leave my laptop on all the time and for some reason, after it's not been used for a couple of hours (or even when I've been using it for more than 3 hours at a time), when I try to click open another link, it doesn't open. It says on the bottom left hand corner: 'error on page.' My pop-up blocker is off so I am not sure what's going on. The only way I've figured out how to fix it is if I re-start the whole system. Any idea what this is from and how I can fix it?

I'm not sure it has something to do with the pop-up blocker. Apparently, a process/feature is automatically turned off after some time when the computer is idle. Have a look in your laptop's power management settings. Does it happen when the laptop is plugged as well?

I actually always have the laptop plugged in. I found the power management settings in the control panel and changed it to the highest performance level there was. I will see if that fixes the problem. Thanks!
