Error Message and RSS Problem In WordPress... Please Help

Why do I receive an error message on my about page and why does my RSS feed not work?  I just installed WordPress and the FUnique theme.

The first installation of WordPress creates a first post just so you'll see how things look. The <ADMINNICENAME> text is actually a place holder for the nickname of the admin user.

Try setting the nickname for the Admin user and that should solve the problem.

Now, in order to use FeedBurner you still need your own RSS feed. What you need to change is the link to the RSS in your WordPress theme, so that instead of pointing to your local RSS it will point to FeedBurner's RSS feed.

FeedBurner will get the URL to your local RSS feed and will do its magic.

I would also recommed that you'll create a user of your own and not use the admin user to do posts.

I hope this helps...

Hi villarrealsj,

It would be very helpful if you can write the exact error you are getting when accessing the RSS feed of your new blog as well as the error you get when accessing the about page.

It would also be very helpful to know the exact configuration you are using (Operating System, MySQL version, PHP version, etc).

ok, my apologies.

The About page is working now, so that is not a problem anymore.  However, the darn RSS feed is not working.  Here is what I receive:

"XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </ADMINNICENAME>.

Line Number 21, Column 32:        <dc:creator><ADMINNICENAME></dc:creator>
---------------------------------------------^"

As for the rest of the info... I don't know the tech stuff.  WordPress...?

What I really want to do is just remove it and add my own feed from FeedBurner.
