Erroneous charges to credit card

I was charged for a CD which I ordered from an online compay offering information about grants that I might be eligible for due to the monies offered from the Government to help small bussines. Iwas charged for the CD which I have never recieved but also charged each month following for a newsletter @29.95 and the online info at 80.00 also, for which I received nothing. Pay pal says too bad. I tried to call the company over a dozen times and only once contacted a real person who said he couldn't do anything about and I would probably be billed June also. He said I should contact my credit card company that I would get better results. I had aready done that while still strying to contact the grant people. I live ona small amount of social security and these $400.00 charges are devastating to my budget. Is there any hope for restitution? Thank you, sincerely,Patricia Highpatricart73@aol.com

My opinion is this is a ripoff and not a real company; they will not stop collecting from you on your credit card. If you had read the article carefully it stated I believe that they would do exactly what they are doing  and make charges each month. I have seen such adds myself and after reading such I backed out before signing up.

I expect the credit card co. is your best approach to getting this stopped; tell them this was a misunderstanding. Actually you have agreed to this even thought you did not realize you do so.  (Sorrry, that is my opinion) I hope they will stop the future charges if not removing  the past charges. I'm sorry such ads are on the same page as the truthful information of the Dolans. Best wishes.

This is what a fake credit card company will do. They have very attractive credit card offers and they are just waiting for you to sign up or purchase a product thereafter they simply make similar charges each month.

The best option I think you have it to pay your current credit card bill in full and immediately apply to close the credit card number or completely terminate it. Once the credit card is terminated then that online company will not be able to charge money to a terminated credit card number.

I don't see any new information to react to. It still says posted two months ago. That was some time ago. That means she solved her problem or did not like my first answer. If she is still being charged I agree she should cancel the card immediately. I think she should not be to quick to agree to pay the balance which she probably does not rightfully owe. A credit card co. is suppose to stop charges when you refute them. She should fight this and make sure she canceled any unintended agreement she made with the original company and do it yesterday.

One good letter from  from a lawyer would cost very little compared to months of charges and would stop a lot of bills. That is if she cannot settle it herself.

You simply ordered from an online compay - get out of here...
