Entertaining Kids on a Budget

How would you entertain kids on a budget? Bear in mind that we can't really go outside now, and their mother (and I) would prefer to keep the house as complete and unbroken as possible :-)

You could play hide and seek or charades. You could write and act in a play, or choose a known story and turn it into a play.

If possible, you could make cookies for Christmas dinner.

Any board game is great fun. You could also make up games, where everybody is supposed to get an object a-z, first an object beginning with an A, then a B etc.

Hi,

I would come up with an arts and crafts activity. Simply bring all sorts of art supplies (try not to bring the most messy ones) and give the kids a bit of guidance in preparing something. You can divide the kids into two groups and turn it into a contest. For the girls you can work on preparing jewelery.

This type of activity is simple and it can be great fun if done in a creative way.

Get educated!

Board games and card games are great for all ages. I loved playing rumi growing up.

Have you considered playing some theater games? Kids love to ham it up, and it doesn't really require any supplies, except maybe a few props. This guy in the video series teaches you some examples of some

acting and theater games. Have fun!
