RE: English proficiency test

I took one in college as a graduation requirement and I thought it was easy.  I don't like the way they are scored since there is no way to match two separate scorers for results.

I like the idea of people being proficient in English before they get a degree in the U.S., especially since people's lives and health may depend on good communication by doctors and architects and etc. Of course, once upon a time, you couldn't even get into college without being proficient in English.  Now they will take anybody because that is all there is to enroll from our high schools, and a very large percentage have to take remedial courses in reading and writing.

RE: English proficiency test

English language is an important skill for many fields and in many countries. If you're required to take a proficiency test, it's probably because you need to be able to function in English.

Some tests are better than others. What's important is to know what the test you're taking is looking for and to be sure you have it.

Cancer - Nip it in the bud with early detection! Cancer. It has to be one of the ugliest words in the English language, if you ask me. It is no respector of persons and will take them whether they are young or old, short or tall, skinny or plump, male or female. Almost every woman I know has had someone stolen from them by cancer. REVIEW: The Last Book by Zoran Živković REVIEW SUMMARY: A book about books for people who love books. MY RATING: BRIEF SYNOPSIS: The patrons of an independent bookstore have been dropping dead, and it's up to a bookish detective and a bookseller to find out why. MY REVIEW: PROS: Told with a delightful sense of humor, this story appeals to the bibliophile in all of us. (I'm looking at you, John!) CONS: The story is so short that sometimes it seems a little rushed, especially in the romance department. BOTTOM LINE: It's Umbert
Hopping On The Beautiful Island Nation Of Saint Lucia Most people only ever know Saint Lucia as one of the numerous pit stops on most Caribbean cruises. Known as the Helen of the West Indies, this historic island nation has been the bone of contention between UK and France ever since ages past. Saint Lucia, named after St. Lucia of Syracuse, is one of the Windward Islands in the Lesser Antilles. Its immediate neighbors are Barbados and the Martinique. It is easy enough to see why these two superpowers would want Saint Lucia into their fold. This
