The quake was an amazing experience! I'm traveling in England with some friends (originally from Rhode Island) and we were awake in our hotel and when suddenly everything started to move!!
The reports here say it was 10 seconds long but it sure felt longer. I just heard an interview on the BBC with a guy that said there was a loud rumbling noise, though we couldn't here anything but the sound of furniture shaking.
The reporter also said that this kind of earthquake is rare and the last time it happened was more than 20 years ago in Wales. We don't have any plans to change our trip (we're moving on to The Netherlands next). They also mentioned that there is no way to tell if another earthquake will happen, so I don't think there is any danger involved.
