Engine problems

i have a 96 s-10 with a 2.2 liter..it all of a sudden lost power while driving..i've changed egr,map,air and fuel filter..engine sounds muffled and lacks power 3rd gear is about as high of gear i can drive in..hard to take off, got to ride the clutch..breaks are not my hold up..the cat is hollow so it aint blocked..plugs look ok..got a strong fuel smell from exhaust...needless to say im not a real big chevy fan...

Hi there.  Have you checked the fuel pump?  Because if it's going bad, it would cause the very problem you describe.  You can go to most auto parts stores and have the codes checked on it to see if that's what it is.  Many of them will do this for free.
