Well first of all there is no denying that Elton John is an incredible musician in his own right. I would place the success of his music up there with artists such as Bono and Phil Collins. Yes, I do believe that his open sexuality may have aided in his appeal, and thus his climb in the music industry. However, gay or straight, his music is what I think about first when I hear his name, not his sexuality. Not only is he a talented artist, but also an amazing humanitarian. He is undeniably generous, supporting and giving to numerous charities as well. I believe that he has earned his right to be a bit cocky if he wants to be!
