Ellen DeGeneres replaces Paula Abdul?

Yes, I think I like her better than Paula Abdul.

I used to be a big fan of Ellen DeGeneres. Even since she's had her own show no more. As far as I'm concerned, this is just another step in the wrong direction, but I would love to be worth as much as she is.

No! She has no singing experience and like Simon is a none singer judging something he knows nothing about.

This is proof the judges are not the ones who pick the talent. They are told who to pick, because she knows nothing about music or dance or anything. I like Ellen for what she does but the talent thing is a scam.

Does Ellen know anything about music and performing? I didn't love Paula Abdul but at least she had more experience in the music industry. I think Ellen is just another familiar face. I don't think she really knows what she's doing.

No way.  She knows NOTHING about music.  If she just tries to be funny (and we know she will) I think it will only belittle the singers.  Actually - by making her a judge that is already belittling the singers.  It makes the whole show a joke!  Oh well - there goes one of best shows - down the drain.

No, I do not.  While Ellen could judge and coach a stand-up comedian, she is not a professional dancer.  Paula was.  To judge properly, I believe you need to be excellent yourself in what you are attempting to judge.  Ellen has a good sense of rhythm and will be funny and charismatic and add much to the panel, but she will not be a great judge of proper dance moves.
