I used to have a really cool carpet handbag back in the 1980s. It was made by Elephant Walk. It was bought in Dallas TX. It was sort of a tapestry fabric with leather handles. I can't seem to find anything even remotely close to it in my searching the web. Has anyone ever heard of it? It had been a gift, but was probably quite expensive. Might have been purchased at Neiman Marcus, or perhaps an artist gift shop called The Ole Moon, or in a shop at The Olla Padrida shopping center that no longer exists. Has anyone ever heard of Elephant Walk carpet handbags? Thanks!
Hello ~ Funny you ask. I'm online looking up the same thing. I just received one for Christmas this year (2008) It was purchased at a local antique store (MN). My boyfriend was told it was from around 1950......Mine has a pheasant & another bird in the pattern. I totally love it too! I don't know where else they can be aquired...check your antique stores. Mine also has very nice leather handles & leather accents.... GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH!!
