Buying a second hand electronic drum is much easier than buying a regular set of drums. because there are no tension rods and the heads are less sensetive, all there's left to check is whether the set is working or not. Play on it a bit, look for noises caused by bad contacts, exam the "box" itself for signs of abuse, and I guess that's it.

Good Luck !

Hi abe,

The answer depends on your budget and needs: do plan on buying electronic drums just to keep it quiet, or you are more into recording? If you are more into making music then you might want to consider buying a midi controller, for example, which would give you a vary of options and extensions.

The First advice I can give you right now is that Buying an electronic drum set requires also a good sound system and a monitor so you can hear yourself. You can use headphones, but it doesn't have the same "feel".

So narrow it down and I would be glad to help you Smile

Thanks Paul for your explanation. In a first time it's for sound and space purpose, but as I start producing sound on my computer I look for a drum that i can plug on the computer.

But instead of a midi controller I would prefer a simple 8 track mixing table because I already have a good sound system.

About the budget, it's not my primary concern but Idon't need to have the greatest drum.

I have a look on something like Roland V-Drum, or Yamaha TD12 with "real pad".

There is something I need to focus on if I want to buy a secondhand drum ?
