If the power and lights are blinking, fading and then return to normal, It is likely that your breaker switches have dirty or worn contacts. The breakers should be replaced. And it's easy for anyone to do. Try this test but be VERY CAREFUL or your gonna get hurt by shock. First, go to your breaker power and carefully remove the front cover by removing the 4 screws at the corner of cover. Being very careful because you need to leave the MAIN power on and you could get a HIGH VOLTAGE shock. With the lights dimmed in the room, switch the breaker switch from ON to OFF and then back on. Carefully watch to see if the breaker switch gives off a spark while your moving it. If it does, it's likely gone bad and needs to be replaced. To Replace the breaker switch. SHUT OFF ALL POWER BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE BREAKER SWITCH. MOVE MAIN BREAKER TO OFF POSITION. TEST THAT ALL POWER IS OFF IN THE HOME BY TRYING OUT LAMPS AND ETC. When you are sure all power to house is off, use a screwdriver to pry the breaker switch off and away from the power box. Next, remove the wire from the switch by loosing the screw that holds the wire in place. Take the switch to a hardware store and let the store person make sure you get the CORRECT Size replacement. There are several different types. To install the new one. Attach the wire FIRST and be sure it is tight. Slide the side of the breaker that doesn't have the wire back in it's place that connects it to the center power post. May have to try it a few times to get it back into the correct position. Then push the side of the breaker that has the wire attached back into (towards) the main box body. If you did it correctly, the new switch should align up with the other breakers. Carefully move MAIN power switches back to ON position. Make sure breaker switch is in the ON position as well. Your done. New breaker switches usually cost about $10.00 each. Be very careful at ALL times you work with the power. If you are still having problems as the were, you may have replaced the wrong breaker switch and need to replace a different one. BE CAREFUL!
