Electrical outlets in Japan

I am going to be travelling to Japan. What sort of electrical outlets do they use in Japan? Do I need a converter for Israeli electronics? Where in Israel can I buy such a converter? Thanks.

Nothing is simple in Japan...

The sockets are almost identical the American sockets but their standard is slightly different so it doesn't always fit (see here). They have 100v voltage and the frequency there is 50Hz in some parts and 60Hz in other parts.

I think what I'd do is take a converter for the American standard, and either use it in Japan (if it works) or buy another one there (if it doesn't).
