Eggs per day?

I've heard that chickens lay only one egg per day.

Is this true?

Love is the battery of life....

Hi, -------- Simple question complicated answer: Yes, hens lay in the average 1 egg per day. But there are several conditions / factors that influence: 1). The hen requires 14 hours of day light (under 12 hours their productivity decreases). 2). Balanced food (16-18% Protein). 3). Healthy (diseases might decrease it). 4). A hen has 2 cycles (50-60 weeks, each cycle) in which she lays eggs (with an interval between those cycles, for rest [called Molt]). 5). Dry conditions (too wet will effect it’s productivukty). 6). Stress / unrest might inversely effect the productivity). 7). Parasites may effect too. 8). Moving the folk too often (splitting the folk) might effect the productivity too. 9). Predators too. 10). Age. I sure forgot one or more factors. ----- Best regards,
