Whether there is a rim or not doesn't matter, if it goes in, it's gone in. If someone has removed the cup it's not your problem, (unless you're playing in a major tournament, then it would be up to the officials) the ball is in the hole. Whether you sunk the putt or aced it, liner or no liner it's in, in general play.

 

Rules just went in hole? Nonsense!
