One must remember that no ecosystem is perfect, but that all ecosystems exist in balance. A balanced ecosystem appears to require centuries, if not millenia to achieve, and even a small change can distroy the system an initiate a new period of development toward balance. The massive changes initiated by humanity will have, as yet unforseen, results. What may come is to be feared, since the precursors to this change and all laboratory experiments concerning it tend to predict disaster. I for one am looking forward to the future, because I'm over a half century old, have no biological offspring and can afford to watch the end of the human race objectively, if it come to that.
