Eating salty food and water drinking habits

I am really edited to salty snacks and food; I know it is not healthy and that it is really bad for the heart. Some friend recently told me that he has heard somewhere that this “salty tooth” may be caused by “unnoticed theist”. He said people like me eat high quantities of salt so we could retain as much water in our body as possible, because we do not notice we do not put any water “in”. This sounds true to some extent because I do not drink enough and I do not give drinking any attention. I have tried to look this up but I found nothing.

A foolish heart will call on you to toss your dreams away, then turn around and blame you for the way you went astray. - Grateful Dead, Foolish Heart

maybe you could try making sure that you drink a couple liters of water every day and see if you still get a craving to eat salty food.  the salty food should actually make you thirsty.  i would try staying away from the salty food and drinking a lot for a week and see what happens.  you could also ask your doctor about this.
