Easy and inexpensive cleaning tips

As someone who does a lot of cooking and somehow ends up with food all over the kitchen floor... prior to cooking a big meal, such as for parties and the holidays, I always spread newspaper around the kitchen floor....when I am finished, I just roll up the newspaper and throw it all away. Much easier and less inexpensive than mopping the kitchen floor. I also use newspaper under a sheet of paper towels when draining fried foods, and newspaper is also great to spread over any working areas before doing dirty jobs like peeling lots of potatoes and carrots or making pastry dough. It also helps to fill up your sink with soapy water before you start cooking a meal, and to place every dirty item into the sink as you use it. Afterward, clean-up is very easy.

Oooh, now I get it..

Love this tip! Thanks! For anyone with a small child still using a highchair I'd like to share this one. An old, or new for that matter, section of shower curtain placed underneath the highchair is great keeping the floor from deep scrubbings due to dried and crusted infant foods.
