Easy appetizers for over 300. Ideas needed

We are having a party for my father's 90th bd.  He is well known and over 300 people will be coming in and out over a period of a 4 hour open house.  I need easy, quick, inexpensive ideas, cheese and crackers, dips etc.  We are doing the food ourselves.   Please help.  Thanks, Jean

And He scores!!!!

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

  1. Cheese- buy a big block and slice it up into cubes. Add toothpicks. Crackers need to be available.
  2. Sour cream dips- Read the labels of the packages that you are to add to the sour cream. It should not be hard to duplicate this.
  3. Celery- stuff it with pimento cheese or peanut butter.
  4. Veggies- use with the sour cream dip.
  5. Fruit- use toothpicks. Go to Sam's or Costco and get some big cans of pineapple. Slice up some bananas- they should be coated with lemon juice to prevent discoloration unless you are doing this on an as needed basis.
  6. Chips- I would stick with the basics, plain corn or potato.
  7. And all the rest. Punch would be good. Or get a relative/friend to pour out soft drinks for your guests.

Just remember that you are not trying to supply a meal for all of these folks.

I believe in You. You can improve your life! Start today!

Also, you can roll up slices of deli meat,w/ cheese spread,  cut it into 1 inch rolls, stick toothpix thru it,

small loaves of banana, nut, blueberry breads, sliced, or tiny muffins,

party sandwiches spread w/ deli spreads, cut the crust off, cut into triangles, set up as wedges

Hot foods- lil smokies (weinies) cooked in BBQ sauce, cheese sauce for nacho's , mini kabobs w/ chicken and a veggie,

ha- does he like chocolate?  how about a chocolate fountain? That'd be fun and different- people would dip their fruit into it.

punch- hawaiian punch, pineapple juice, 7up or gingerale, and sherbert

centerpiece for veggie trays- get a styrofoam tree, layer foil around it, then stick veggies into it with toothpics

Have 3 or 4 trays of all made up, then just pull when they get picked apart, rotate fresh ones in, and refill and they're ready to go.

Ask them for fun memories of Dad to stick into a scrapbook- take along your laptop and printer to take/print photos while everyone is there

Play Dad's favorite music during the event!

Quesidillas . A favorite dish u can just get tortillas than put chicken and cheese in them than just bake them. Another idea is in Costco they have a 300 pack of all appetizers like spinach rolls and spring rolls pig in a blankets. Its easy and really good.
