Easing the pace of life

I work in a satisfying job, that pays well, but in recent months I began to feel the I'm in some kind of a race. How can I ease my pace of life?

Try to develop some hobbies and/or ways to relax during your free time. Often we work all day and then "forget" how to relax! We come home at night and all we can think about is the work we have to do the next day or the errands we have to run. Take a breath and find a way to free your mind of stress. Give yourself the time to do things that you don't think you have time for. After all, most people waste so much time stressing over things they have to do, when they could be using that time for more practical things. If this is a fairly new job, then you will eventually adjust to the pace, and everything will seem to slow down a bit. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

AnnieSu gave you an excellent answer (credited her with 2 thumb up).  I would like to add: One of the THE secrets of life is balance (balance between many things)..... you reached that conclusion by yourself..... now open your dairy and set "meetings" with: Your love ones, your hobbies, to do the things that you love...... That's what I am doing (and it works !)..... those meetings are very important and don't cancel them (and don't delay).   Above all: be 100% efficient at work !.
Best regards,

OK so your job is satisfying but you should also always keep in mind that it gives you capabilities to finance your many activities, some important and some less important. Sit down for a few moments and define your priorities. Those that are at the top (family) should be given more of your time so that you and they can benefit and enjoy that time. Taking off some time from a stressful job will not harm the job  and might even reduce the stress when the free time is well spent. In other words, everyone benefits.

EXPOSÉ "Question 7" PBS

View the entire show at http://www.pbs.org/wnet/expose/watch/index.htm In the military's pre-deployment screening process, soldiers are asked to complete a personal survey which contains only one mental-health question -- Question 7. It asks: "During the past year have you sought counseling or care for your mental health?" The Hartford Courant analyzed data from more than 900,000 questionnaires and discovered that only a fraction of soldiers answered "yes" to question 7. Among those who did disclose past psychological treatment, however, nearly all were ultimately deployed. Journalists Lisa Chedekel and Matt Kauffman dig deep to find a military mental health system facing signs of battle fatigue. They revealed that some soldiers needing mental health assistance while on active duty are falling through the cracks, and others with post-traumatic stress disorder or other mental illnesses are being sent back for additional tours. And watch the full episode online beginning Thursday, October 11.
