He will give you some meds. for the itching & something to get rid of the mites. Your poor little dog is suffering and very uncomfortable.
Once the mites are cleared up, keep the hair short around his or her ears so that air can circulate into the ear and keep them dry, also keep them clean with a medicated wipe.
