Ear mites on dogs

When you clean his ears is there a brownish substance that comes out on the cotton ball that looks like old blood? If so then it's ear mites. If not then it is a yeast infection. If he has ear mites you can try cleaning his ears with half water half white vinegar but the main thing is too get rid of fleas since that is what causes them and also fleas cause tape worms. So bottom line if it's mites then you can't get rid of them till you get rid or fleas. My home remedy for yeast in fections in the ears is to buy feminine yeast cream and rub the insides of their ears. It doesn't drip into mouth because it is a cream.

I heard if you put a couple of drops of Wesson Corn Oil in your dogs ear and repeat daily for 3 days, the ear mites will go away!! Anything is worth a shot right? I told my friend the same thing and she tried it with her dog and claimed it worked!! Good Luck

You need to take him or her to the Vet before he gets them infected. He will give you some meds. for the itching & something to get rid of the mites. Your poor little dog is suffering and very uncomfortable. Once the mites are cleared up, keep the hair short around his or her ears so that air can circulate into the ear and keep them dry, also keep them clean with a medicated wipe.
