what natural causes are there for dyspnea. Is hypothyroidism a cause and are there natural cures for hypothyroidism other than Arm Thyroid and Synthroid?
Let the sun shine!
There are herbal supplements that help with hypothyroidism but it is best to consult a herbalist or natropath for doses. Here are the details of Thy and a website that delivers worldwide http://www.shs100.com/acatalog/Thy_1_Under.pdf
I hope this helps
thanks for the link. I'm still curious about the causes though and more info on natural and alternative healing modalities.
Live ,laugh,love,
Kathy,
though Hypothyroidism CAN cause dypsnea it is an unusual sypmtom of the dissease. It is caused by the bodies inability to absors hormormes correctly which can affect any part of the body including the lungs and heart. This is a rare and late symptom tough and other causes like asthma or COPD ,iron deficiency enemia as well as other heart trouble should be looked at.
As for you questio about herbal remedies .As a registered nurse and a sufferer of hypothyrodism myself I would NOT go the herbal route. But that is just me.I would see a Board certified Endocrinologist and remember that this disease can take YEARS to get under control. It my take several different drugs trials and diffeerent doses.Always remembering to STICK with it and to nake sure your doctor knows os any new symptoms and whether or not you are not getting better .For me it took 6 years and Sythroid at the level of o.135 after years of dosing trials that finally worked. But it is trial and error and VERY individual for EACH patient is very different.Make sure the doctor you see takes your TSH as well as T4,T3 and T4 resin uptake..as TSH is not the only sign of how the drugs are working.Hope this helps
thank you so much for the good information!! Yes, I was on Synthroid for many years--but went off last fall and this summer went back onto Arm thryoid and I feel horrible--but don't like taking drugs--of course last year I was on other drugs that could have been causing negative side effects rather than the Synthroid alone. Perhaps I should try Synthroid and see if it is better than the more natural Arm Thyroid----I was just really curious who I am hypothyroid in the first place and what happened to get me here. You say it is hormone absorption problems--that is good to know. But now, after your answer I am also wondering if vascular congestion could be causiing the dyspnea. I had exrays done last year and they were fine except there was a notation in the report that I had vascualr congestion and when I asked the doctor they didn't seem to think it was important at the time. Thanks for the insights--I think I'll be seeing my doctor this coming Sat and will bring this up again. Thanks for all of your help it sounds like you know a lot about this and have the experience both personally and professionally to backup your knowledge. What a gift you are to people. Thanks and Blessings, Kathy
TY and I am glad I could help.yes I have ALOT of experience both personal (myself,my mother ,three sisters, two sister in-
laws) and professional with thyroid disease. In our family we have different types also. There are types from a DNA marker that make you kill the thyroid ,there are types where your body is exposed to a thyroid toxin, there are types where the cause is unkonown, there are forms where it is secondary to another immune system disorder where the thyroid gets damaged that way(this is the form I seem to have) .
It is usually not the Synthroid or the Armer Thyroid making you feel bad but either like you said another drug interferring in their action, another problem you have that is not being treated ,(which seems to be the case with you and the difficulty breathig) ,or you are just not getting ENOUGH of the medication to be working...
I will be here if you need further assistance,
Mo
