Dry eyes

lately ( it is actually the past half year ) I find my contact lens very irritating , it is like my eyes are to dry. should I go to the doctor or should I look for some over the counter medicine ?

When it comes to eyes and contact lenses, I think that you better consult your doctor. misuse of counter medicines might cause you damage.

If by irritating you mean your eyes hurt, you should definitely see your optometrist.  Your eye sight isn't something you should mess with. 

If by irritating, you mean an annoying dry feeling.   You might have just dry eyes. 

If you do just have dry eyes, you can use saline solution or some artificial tears that you can get at any pharmacy.  If you don't feels some immediate relief then again see you optometrist. 

 There are also some dieases that cause people to not produce tears and there are medications to address this that can be prescribed to you by a physician.
