Drilling a hole through the wall

I'm looking for an accurate and easy method  for drilling a hole through a wall (side to side) with a drill bit which its length is half of the wall thickness.

Any suggestions ?

This is extremely difficult.  Look for a longer drill bit -- Home Depot and Lowes have bits that are quite long -- 12" and up (I've seen 36" long drill bits).  Look in the electrical department, not necessarily in tools.  The bits are used for drilling holes for electrical wire runs through studs.  They typically come in 3/8, 1/2, and 5/8 sizes.

If you want to drill a hole of a certain depth, mark the measurement on the drill bit with a piece of colored electrical tape and stop drilling when you reach the tape.
