Drill in thick cement wall

I need to drill through 20 cm of cement. what kind of a drill do I need? is a cordless drill strong enough for this task?

You would probably have to go with a corded one, you need the power.

You need a drill with a hammer action and a strong one too. make sure you have extra handles on the one you take, it helps you keep it balanced and helps you push it strongly against the cement wall.

A good one I recommend is the Black and Decker DR700 or the high torque drill 7254 :

In addition to the Hammer drill you should also use a Masonary Bit

Make sure that the cement is dry before drilling through it.  Also, it depends on the size of the hole you need to make!

If any cordless drill can do it, The B&D PS122K Cordless Drill will be up to it, I used one to go through a wall of a bathroom with about the same amount of cement and and plasterboard
