Answer 38 out of 38

A:

Smile I was so happy to find this site as I have experienced dream flashbacks when awake too This has happened 3 times the first time about 4 years ago and the next 2  in the last 3 months.the horrible feelings last about 20 to 30 mins and then go and I feel fine and normal

I found it very scary and as I am in my 40s thought I was getting dementia or something awful so its good to read that lots of you are young and having the same experience

What is interesting is that in the last couple of years I have developed migraine aura  sometimes followed by a headache sometimes not and iIwonder if this is related to the flashbacks?after both I get the same nausea and disoriented feelings

My flashbacks start with me suddenly getting nano second memories of dreams but not long enough in my mind to properly recall they keep coming and I end up confused and utterly disorientated  very panicky sweating  and feeling sick the latest one which happened today was whilst I was on my morning jog which was very scary as the other times i have been in bed I had a migraine aura(arc of flashing lights) a couple of days ago

My daughter now in her 20s also has dream flashbacks which last a nano second and gone before she can grab them so to speak, this can be triggered off by a snatch of music a word anything but she does not suffer from migraine she had them a lot at uni where she was under stress?but they did not last like mine do

It is heartening to find I am not alone as its so hard to describe this to anyone! I would be very interested if any research has been done on this

regards

jamie
