Downloading pictures from Canon EOS300

I have a Canon EOS Rebel 300. I have not had problems downloading my pictures in the past using Zoom Browser. Lately the screen that appears to start the downloading is gray, not the bold lettering that usually appears. I clink on the box and nothing happens. I have tried rebooting, different ports.... It is still recognizing my point and shot camera so I think the port is okay.
