"What does it profit a man to gain the world if he loses his soul?"

It could be a bladder or urinary tract infection.  I don't want to say the word vet around him, but he might need to see the doctor.  Or it could be that you have a sensitive nose, and he is normal.  Dogs do have smelly urine, to a degree.  Only his doctor call tell you for sure, I guess.

There are lots of dog lovers on this site, so I assume others will weigh in with their opinions.

It could be nothing also. Some dogs do have smelly urine to a degree. Is your dog male or female? Has your dog been fixed? Is your dog in the house most of the day until someone comes home to let him out? Does the dog hold the urine or does it have small

Accidents even when excited? Is there a yellow color to the urine? From the sound of the drinking a lot of water, how much is a lot of water? The dog can still be dehydrated also. You can check it your self by doing the pinch test at the back of the neck area or looking at the gums to see if they’re white – discolored or red? Taking the dog into a vet for some blood work wouldn’t hurt anyone either. The dog could be diabetic also.
