Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
It's sure not too late.... The fertility age of dogs is very much depended on the specific breed (and also differs from dog to dog).... Some breeds are fertile till the age of 12....  In any case (breed) 3 years is sure not too late.  Ferility starts at about 6 month (earlier pregnancies than that were recorded !).
Best regards,

Well thank you very much. My dog is a boxer/ pitt and will be 4 in oct. From a couple of different people we heard that a girl dog should at least have one litter of pups. We wasnt really sure what age dogs could still have pups.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Dogs In Danger

Assuming you have not already spayed her, and while it is definitely not too late to breed her, I would suggest asking your veterinarian for advice on this subject. A dog's breed and medical history are important to know before making any decisions regarding breeding.

I love puppy breath

Why do you want to bred her?? Get her spayed, who ever told you that a dog should have pups before being spayed doesnt know what they are talking about.Best to talk to your vet, We have 2 GSD, A.K.C registered, both are spayed and neutered. Why bring more pups into the world when so many are being put down.

No it is not to late but I would highly recommend reading Breeding Dogs for Dummies. It's a great book full of useful info. and can be purchased at any book store. Breeding and welping pups is a full time job. There can also be problems during delivery as well. Read first , breed second. Remember only breed to better a breed. You really need to understand all the ins and outs of breeding. You also only want your pups to go to good loving homes, so they don't end up in shelters. I always find out about the people before I will let my pups go. I dont want my labs to end up in an apartment all day when they love to run. Good luck and please get the book.
