Dear Walkeys, I was only just sent this question to answer. I see that you posted it two months ago. In that time you either resolved the question or nature resolved it for you as predators abound. However, the answer that I know (for fyi) is to capture the little ones, put them in a box or cage and become their mother by providing safety, water (shallow as they do drown) food and warmth. Little ones don't do well free ranging alone. You will have to transfer them to a larger cage as they grow and keep them until they nearly full grown, maybe about a year or nine months. Don't release them by throwing them out, but open the door to the cage in the daytime and allow them to come out on their own. There will be at least one who will lead the way if only out of curiosity, usually a cockerelle. Know that you will lose some, which is normal. Even chicken mamas lose their young to accident and predators, oh, and half of them or more will be male. Good luck in the future. I loved keeping chickens and miss it. agape, cyncy
