I have a female jack russell terrior. Could someone tell me how old, on average, can I expect my 8 month old pup to come into season for the first time?
Usually the first heat cycle is between 6 months to 1 year.

Take care if there are male intact dogs in your home, they will have to be kept apart at all times.

Your bitch puppy could come into season any time from now till 12months more likely in the next month, but do not breed on her first season it's not good for her.
