My dog does the same thing. I don't believe she is dominating you. Remember that dogs have a 'pack' mentality. They want to be where the pack leader is and follow his/her lead. She knows where her food and attention and love come from, so she is near you all the time to recieve those things. You are her leader and her best friend and she admires and loves you for it. It is comforting to me as well. Can anyone or anything love as unconditionally as a dog? Who else is THAT happy to see you ALL the time? Its wonderful. And in return we love and care for them the best we can.
I agree that dogs are wonderful and loving creatures. However, her following you constantly is indeed a dominant behavior. Does she pull on the leash or walk ahead of you when walking? Does she demand attention? Are there other behavior issues?
Normally constantly following you belongs to a cluster of behaviors that indicate your relationship with your dog needs improvement.

Greetings! Since it is comforting to you, the dog is probably picking up signals from you. Dogs communicate through pictures as well as cues from their owners. I don't believe that this is a domination thing. Dominant dogs do several things. If they are sitting, they tend to sit kitty cornered with their paw on your foot. They tend to lead rather than follow. Your dog may also be having issues with separation anxiety as well which is adding to the behavioral mix. If it is not bothering you and the dog doesn't seem distressed in any way, I wouldn't worry about it.
I have a shiz su that follows me all day long no matter where i go in the house. I feel bad for her because i feel she never gets any rest. I was told that as they get older it changes well three years later and she still follows me everywhere in the house.

Your dog might have separation anxiety issues, that's why she follows you all the time. You need to train her to be left alone.
