Did we get here by random chance?

"But I am trusting you, O Lord, saying, 'You are my God! My future is in your hands.'" Ps. 31:14-15

Having evil in this world actually PROVES the existence of God..if there is evil, there would have to be something opposite of that otherwise we wouldnt know what "good" or "perfect" is. Where there is bad, there is always good..know what i mean?

"Doesn't evil and suffering prove that God doesn't exist?"

Exactly.  God is omnipotent and compassionate, and that proves why there is no suffering in the world.

Or, rather, since there is suffering in the world, that proves that there is no one who has both compassion and omnipotence.  It's hard to imagine an omnipotent character who is so evil as to allow suffering, so, probably, no one at all  is omnipotent.

No matter how circuitous, logical arguments can't get around this.  When they try to, they sound rather sinister, don't they?  (see above.)

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

trioxion248,

The bible tells us that by one man (Adam) sin entered into this world when he disobeyed God and listened to Satan in the garden of Eden. The bible also tells us that God sent his only begotten son (Jesus) to redeem man from his sin.

When we accept Jesus Christ as our savior, our sins are forgiven and we have life eternal (In heaven). If we reject him, we are doomed to total damnation (The lake of fire or hell).

Jesus said he did not come into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. All we have to do is accept him into our hearts. He gives us freewill to coose. He will not force himself in. He says behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him and sup (live) with him, and he with me.

You did not get here by random chance. The bible tells us that God knew us from the foundation of the world. He knew that we were going to be born and he knew when we were going to be born.

This world will remain evil until the day of judgement when God will judge the good and the evil. If your name is written in the lambs book of life you will live with Jesus in the new earth. If your name is not found in the book of life you will spend eternity in hell.

Be blessed and may you find peace.

God said in his world that he will let the wheat (the good) and the tares (the evil)grow up together, and at the day of harvest (Judgement), he will do the seperating. The wheat he will gather unto himself (in heaven), and the tares he will cast into the fire (hell).

how can anyone belive there is nothing more to this existence. Do we not have good and bad thoughts? When we follow or do something that we know is bad do we not feel bad? When we do something good do we not feel good?  Has not everyone chosen to do the things we know will make us feel bad?  Why ,the word bad or awfull or sad is enough to make you know the other choice was better.  I want to feel good????? I think there must be a reason for these feelings... otherwise, why??? My exsitence just might depend on what I choose to do...I don't know...but I don't really want to take the chance? Besides I feel good when I do good.  Bad is just Bad and if you feel it sucks.

Allow me to answer as a physicist.

We most assuredly DID NOT get here by random chance.  Nothing could be more greatly in error than evolution, as my colleagues and I have proved repeatedly.

We all came to this planet to prove ourselves before God.  All that we think, say, and do, proves what is deepest within us, regardless that circumstances can belie our character.

Trioxin's picture is that of an extremely rebellious young man, and if that is what he came here to prove of himself, then that is his destiny, not that I would wish to share it.  I must say that the destruction he has wrought on this planet is but the tiniest fraction of what I have done, but I can also say that I had a clear good reason to do so, I would do it again, and I have no reservations about saying why before my Creator.

We all bear a burden before the Almighty.  Some of us come by that burden more honestly than others and for better motives, but no one can say that any of us have come out of this madness called life unscathed.

So, the physicist and the punker have one big thing in common: we're human.
