Document sharing

What do you think of Scribd or other sites (DocsToc, Issuu, etc.) where you can upload and read documents?  Scribd is sometimes described as the "YouTube of documents."  Could document sharing be as popular as video sharing? 

Here's an example of Scribd.  I post it because it's colorful and mentions Yedda.  Smile

I doubt that document sharing can approach the popularity of video or audio sharing.  Nevertheless, I do think that document sharing will be popular.  Even if more people watch videos, still many people do read!

I didn't realize until now that websites like Scribd allow embedding of documents elsewhere.  I'm curious how this works with the other sites you mentioned; so I'll embed a couple of documents here:

Scribd now has a new document viewer (iPaper), which allows you to include Google ads and make money.  Maybe Scribd should be called the "Metacafe of documents."  Wink

Computers are the wave of the future.

I particularly like binfire (see binfire.com). You get 5 GB of free storage and you can share documents as well as music and videos.
