Actually it is. There is a relationship between depression, dizziness and anti-depression medication. This phenomenon has not been solved but raises interest to many. This site can explain more.

Life is like a Vapor, here then gone

You can swim all day in the sea of knowledge, and never get wet.

High blood pressure can cause you to be dizzy, weak, feel faint. The dose may be to high. Depression can cause a host of symptoms, dizzy, pains and aches, headache, cannot sleep, sleep to much. Eating habits change.Only a doctor can pin point the problem. It may be an inner ear infection, or the fluid in the ear is not right. I would go see your doctor about this problem.

The lowest servant in Heaven is still in Heaven.  Whoever rules in hell is still in hell, but they won't rule for long.

Depression is a severely disabling psychiatric condition.  Some cases are purely psychogenic, some traumagenic, some physiogenic, and there are other causes.  However, depression can present with severe dizziness (syncope).

Monopolar depression is a mood disorder, and responds well to medication.  However, some medications can cause syncope.  Consult the prescribing physician for dosage changes.

Bipolar conditions can present with syncope in the depressive stage and paradoxical hyperactivity in the manic phase.  Both require prompt and continuous management.

Syncope can be a disabling condition in itself, but it is far less disabling than the underlying condition.  In any case, I advise you to consult with a physician or psychiatrist immediately on the onset of disabling syncope.

Thanks fo much for your response. It is a friend of mine that I am concerned about. He has had depression in the past and says he is not, now. I am concerned because he has had many dissapointments lately. He has had job related problems and financial problems in addition to loosing his condo through forclosure. He said the other day he is not depressed but he seems to be remote and then there is this dizziness. I think he is disassociative (sp) not really caring about anything --I do sense an underlying anger. He usually keeeps things pretty close to the vest and our relationship is faltering. His Dad committed suicide at his age,62 and I am worried. But right now, I am probably the last person he would admit anything to. He has close friends (male) but it just seemed odd to me about the diziness. Anyway, I will advise him to get help and thanks for listening.
