Divorced people are condemned to Hell...

I can see no other way around it, according to what i have learned from the Christians on this site, divorced people are condemned to spend eternity in Hell.  They are guilty of committing the sin of Adultery and unless they repent of their sin and live a solid life, abstaining from remarrying and adopting a celibate lifestyle, they are continuous sinners in God's eyes and Heaven has no place for them.  So before you take those vows before God, to love and honor your partner until death do you part, be sure you mean it.  Because you get no second chance.  God may love you still, he hates the sin not the sinner, but continue to sin, by engaging in ANY relationship after divorcing another, God will send his loved ones to hell!

Frankly, I don't believe it. But then again, I don't believe in Hell as a place of eternal damnation so I don't see it as a problem.

Meanwhile, should I happen to be wrong then I have to say I think Hell's gonna be pretty damn crowded.

Get the party going, there'll be some hot times soon!

Just so you know, the marraige ceremony is not a part of the Bible.  If you take the Bible literally as the word of God, you should know that God did not write those vows.  Priests did.

I agree with Grandma.  Hell is going to be very crowded.  God is pure love.  God does not punish.  There is no hell.

Have a nice day.

Hmmm, 'God will send His loved ones to Hell'??????  What about "They shall never no NEVER perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of MY hand..." (John 10:27)?

Welcome to the oldest controversy in Christendom.

Are you yourself a Christian?  If yes, then go out and BE a Christian - a Christlike One - practice kindness for all those divorced people.  No need to worry about where THEY are going--it's none of your business. "God knows them that are HIS" (2 Tim 2:19).  "Above all things have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a multitude of sins'" (1 Pet 4:8). Could it be that God's love could cover the 'sin' of divorce?

Yesterday's gone and Today is going fast, Tomorrow is all we have, Until it to has passed

HMMMMMM. I think what you have "learned" is wrong, or rather brainwashed into believing. Only catholics believe in this nonsense, because it was they who instituted the sacrament of "holy matrimony."

Back in "biblical" days "man" needed a way to control his women, to insure they would not leave him or disobey him. Hence the priests derived a rite to make the woman the possession of the man, to care for him and serve him, and have children for him to work his land and carry on his legacy. Women had no rights, they were servants to the man that owned them. Men could also have concubines to bear them children or satisfy their sexual needs should their wife not be able to perform these "duties."

However should a women turn to another man for the same needs, she was labled an adulterous women and punished severly or put to death for her actions!

As Skitch stated there is no reference to marriage in the bible as far as god instituting this ceremony. This was an act perpetrated BY "man" for the purpose of "man's" own benefit to control women and keep them enslaved to him.

This is a law created by the catholics passed down through the generations and adopted by the other religious sects and pounded into gullible brains for centuries.

The only hell anyone divorced is going to suffer is the unnecessary guilt they feel for believing such nonsense!

Did you seek the Lord BEFORE you were married as to if this husband or wife was given to you as a grace or gift from Him or from your own desire?  If you didn't seek the Lord in this decision then you should know the answer...YOU are responsible for the divorce!  Why didn't you include Adonai, your Lord and Master?  Chances are that you have already suffered the consequences of your selfish decision...include Him in the future!

I read your question again. It seems that you are listening to Chrisitans who can be defined as Jewish Christians.  GO BACK and read what the Jews defined as divorce.  Then go and read what Jesus says about this.  Get the whole story first and decide which side of the fence you fall on...jew who claims that jesus is the messiah or gentile who was never a jew and believes that jesus is the messiah.

Shalom!
